Privacy Policy
Last updated: 21 September 2026. Kitho is operated by Hemerakey GmbH, Switzerland. Kitho can be used for relationship support, stand-alone self-managed menstrual-cycle tracking, or both.
Data Kitho may process
Depending on how you use the app, Kitho may process account information, partner names and nicknames, birthdays, contact details you choose to import, partner photos, menstrual-cycle dates, ovulation dates, optional bleeding intensity, optional symptoms, private cycle notes, notes and important dates, notification preferences, calendar-sync preferences and technical information required to operate the service.
On iPhone, if you explicitly connect Apple Health, Kitho reads menstrual-flow records and positive ovulation-test results from HealthKit for cycle tracking and prediction. Kitho does not import Apple Health predictions and does not write data back to Apple Health. Information obtained from Apple Health is used only for the self-managed cycle experience and is excluded from supporter/partner views and partner exports.
If you submit an in-app bug report or feedback, Kitho may also process the report text, an optional screenshot you deliberately attach, your optional reply email, and technical context such as app version, build number, operating-system version and the Kitho screen from which the report was sent.
Why Kitho processes this data
Kitho uses this information only to provide the features you request: account access, your selected Kitho experience, partner profiles, self-managed cycle history and estimates, optional read-only Apple Health import and automatic synchronization, sharing controls, reminders, calendar synchronization, data export and related app functionality. Kitho does not require gender in order to decide which product experience you receive.
Self-managed profiles and sharing
A person may create a self-managed cycle profile directly, without receiving an invitation, or may claim a profile through a partner invitation. A self-managed cycle profile is controlled by that person's own Kitho account.
For newly created profiles, period dates and period predictions, fertile-phase information, ovulation estimates, and current cycle status are enabled as the initial sharing settings. Before Kitho creates a supporter invitation, the self-managing person is shown the currently enabled categories and must explicitly confirm that they agree to share them with the connected Kitho account. The self-managing person can switch any category off at any time, stop all sharing, or remove a supporter account. Existing users' previously selected sharing settings are not changed by this default.
The self-managing person can also decide whether a connected partner may add missing cycle observations. Assisted entry allows additions only and does not give the connected partner access to self-managed private details.
Optional bleeding intensity, symptoms and private cycle notes are stored separately from shareable cycle timing and are never exposed to supporter accounts.
Service providers
Kitho uses Supabase for authentication, database and file storage. Kitho does not currently use a third-party crash-reporting SDK in the production application.
Device permissions
Kitho requests access only when a feature needs it. Contacts are used only when you choose to link or create a contact. Calendar access is used only for calendar synchronization you enable. Notifications are used only for reminders you configure. Photo access is used only when you choose a partner photo or deliberately attach an image to a support report. Apple Health access is optional and read-only: Kitho requests only menstrual-flow and ovulation-test data, uses background delivery only after you enable automatic sync, and never writes to HealthKit.
Retention and deletion
You can delete individual partners in Kitho. Partner deletion has a seven-day recovery period before permanent deletion.
You can permanently delete your Kitho account from Settings. Account deletion removes the account and associated Kitho partner data, cycle records, notes, events, notification preferences, calendar preferences, partner photos, in-app support reports and support screenshots. If you are managing your own cycle through an invited profile, deleting your account also deletes the cycle records and prediction snapshot associated with that self-managed profile.
See Account & Data Deletion for the in-app route and web request fallback.
Data export
Kitho provides an in-app data export feature so you can obtain a copy of data associated with your account.
Security
Kitho uses authenticated access and row-level access controls in its backend. No internet-connected system can be guaranteed completely secure, but Kitho aims to collect only data needed for its features and to limit access to the signed-in account.
Children
Kitho is not intended for use by children under 13.
